The ideal candidate for the Sales & Marketing position is one who has a passion for selling and a proven record of success with prospecting, closing, and retaining new advertisers to establish a diverse and established client list. You must be capable of presenting articulately, enthusiastically and persuasively in person, on the phone, or in writing. Your core responsibility will be to increase our advertiser base and achieve a specific revenue target. Must be able to perform against quota and excel in a highly competitive market.
Prior experience in advertising sales and marketing is not qualification for the position but it is an asset. We are looking for the right individual who wants to jump start their career and become a part of the local business community. Becoming a part of the local business community is much more than just doing day-to-day business to MY Broadcasting Corporation. It means attending events, getting involved, and helping the community grow and prosper.

MY BROADCASTING CORPORATION - "Ontario's Local Broadcast Company" has been recognized as one of the TOP 100 companies in the 23rd annual PROFIT 200 ranking of Canada's Fastest-Growing Companies by PROFIT Magazine.
MyFM Radio is growing again and we are in need of a talented news person who truly understands the value of local news. We are seeking a full time news Anchor/Reporter for coverage of the Pembroke and Renfrew area of the Ottawa Valley. The successful candidate is one who is willing to go above and beyond to make myFM a local news leader. He/she will also become active in the community in which they work. This is a full time position (40 hours a week).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Write and Anchor newscasts
• Complete reporting assignments as directed by attending events or conducting phone interviews to write and edit local stories
• Cover municipal councils
• Represent myFM at Community events as a reporter or Emcee
• Attention to detail and commitment to ensuring news content is factual.
• A conversational and authoritative on-air news delivery.
• Post information on myFM websites.
• Operate on-air board, automation program, and studio equipment.
• Other related duties as assigned by general manager, news director or group program director.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• Minimum one year experience working in radio news.
• Excellent news writing skills.
• Strong audio editing and board operation skills.
• Experience covering municipal councils and local news conferences preferred.
• Working knowledge of Adobe Audition and Wireready programs an asset.
• Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to remain calm and focused when the pace becomes very fast.
• Valid driver’s license (driver’s abstract requested).

Qualifications include:

- Strong computer skills including Word, Excel, Internet, e-Mail.
